Robert Lawrence Stine

Robert Lawrence Stine (R.L Stine) is the author of the week. The famous children's writer was born on October 8, 1943. He has written dozens of horror fiction novels, including the books in the Goosebumps, Rotten School, Mostly Ghostly, The Nightmare Room and Fear Street series.

Stine was born in Columbus, Ohio. His mother was a homemaker and father was a shipping clerk. At the age of nine, he started typing stories and jokes on an old typewriter. He was not a bright student. He was terrible in math.

In 1965, he graduated from Ohio State University and moved to New York to become a writer. He wrote many humour books and started a magazine Bananas.

The horror stories started in the year 1986 with the novel, Blind Date. Then followed the series Fear Street and Goosebumps. They became best sellers and are translated into 32 languages.
