Green Olympiad

TERI (The Energy Resources Institute) in association with Ministry of Environment and Forests annually conduct Green Olympiad which is India’s first annual examination on environmental issues for middle and senior school students. Now it is time for Green Olympiad 2009. The examination will be conducted on September 12, 2009. GREEN Olympiad asks questions (multiple choice) arising from issues such as air and water pollution, environment-friendly initiatives and practices, land and water resources, forests, wildlife, oceans, socio-economic aspects of natural resources, global climate change, and the roles of society to improve our environment. For the third consecutive year a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dimapur emerged as State Winner (Nagaland) in Green Olympiad 2008. Students of Class VIII - X can participate. Students of KV Dimapur may contact Librarian for details and registration.

a student of Class IX was declared state winner in Green Olympiad 2006 and awarded Rs. 5000/- as cash prize and merit certificate from Ministry for Environment and Forests.

Stuti Chandola - Green Olympiad 2007
Stuti Chandola, a student of Class VIII was declared state winner in Green Olympiad 2007 and awarded Rs. 3500/- as cash prize and merit certificate from Ministry for Environment and Forests.

Himanshu Phulara - Green Olympiad 2008
Himanshu Phulara, a student of Class X was declared state winner in Green Olympiad 2008 and awarded Rs. 8000/- as cash prize and merit certificate from Ministry for Environment and Forests.
