Gandhiji writes a Postcard

India Post invites the children to write a letter on a Competition Post Card as Gandhiji would on
any burning current topic. The competition will be called “Gandhiji writes a Postcard”.
The postcard in this case will be the competition postcard which should be placed on
sale at all Post Offices.

Who can participate

The competition will be held for two categories:-

(i) Category I    Class IIIrd to Vth
(ii) Category II   Class VI to VIIIth

How to participate

No entry fee. The children will purchase the competition post card at its face value of Rs. 10/- directly from the Post Offices.

Activities involved

Students to write on Competition Post Cards to share the ideas of and emulate the Father of the Nation. They will write as he would have written on any burning problem of today.
(i) The students will purchase the competition post cards from a post office at its face value, write on it on the given topic and post it to the Chief Postmaster General of the Circle, on the notified post box number.
(ii) The competition will be in English / Hindi. Word limit will be minimum 25 words (on the obverse side only) and sender’s particulars like name, age, class, school, date of writing, address etc. are to be given in the blank part near the address portion.
(iv) Circles will hold a prize distribution ceremony for the best three entries selected
(v) Three best entries will be selected at Circle level and will be sent to Directorate

2nd : Digital camera
3rd : Set of encyclopedia along with CDs

Category II - (Class VIth to VIIIth)

Ist : Laptop
2nd : ipod
3rd : Digital camera

The prizes for the best entries at the National level will be

3rd : Synthesizer

Category II - (Class VIth to VIIIth)

Ist : Personal Computer with Printer & UPS, educational CDs
