The Jungle Book

Author: Joseph Rudyard Kipling

Out of all the books I have read, "The Jungle Book" appealed to me most. I have read it many times. It is written by Joseph Rudyard Kipling, a jouranalist. Kipling also wrote stories , novels and poetry. He had written many stories for children like "The Elephant;s Child" , "the Cat that walked by himself" and the two jungle books

Tjhe story is very interesting. It tells the story how a human child, Mowgli, who came to the jungle and survived with animals. He was raised by a mother wolf. Sher Khan, the man eating tiger wants to kill the man cub. But mother wolf protects him. Mowgli grew up with the wolves and learns the lwa of the jungle from his teacher, Baloo the old brown bear and Bagheera the black panther. He has many adventures and many friends. But still has an enemy, Sher Khan who waits for the day when he can catch Mowgli and kill him.

The language and the style is very easy. The cover is vey attractive. Good quality paper is used. The type is bold and attractive. There are beautiful pictures. All chidren must read this book
